yellow signs and are mostly open from 8h to 19h from Monday to Friday
and from 9h to midday on Saturday.
French postal addresses are written as follows:
Name of the addressee

No. - Road, Av., Square
- Name of the road (Staircase - floor
Post Code - Commune
The first two numbers of the post code show the department number
(this same number appears to the right of car registration numbers).
The following three figures generally indicate the commune and arrondissement.
In Paris, you will mainly find 750XX, where XX designates the arrondissement
(from 1 to 20).
e.g.: an address in the 2nd arrondissement will be written 75002
The main post office is located at 52, rue du Louvre. It is open
24h a day for the telephone and poste restante (general delivery).

For this service letters should be addressed as follows:
The surname should be underlined,
and followed by the address: Poste Restante 52, rue du Louvre 75001
Stamps are sold in post offices, at the counter or in vending machines,
and in tobacconists ("bureaux de tabac").
"Prêts à poster"
These are envelopes and post cards already stamped at the urgent
rate, for anywhere in the world.
